We use the information we collect for the following essential purposes:

• Providing and Maintaining the Service: To operate, deliver, and improve the functionality of MunchiesApp, including processing your orders and facilitating deliveries.
• Personalizing Your Experience: To tailor your experience, recommend restaurants, and offer relevant promotions.
• Order Fulfillment: To process your orders, communicate with restaurants and riders, track delivery progress, and calculate delivery fees.
• Authentication and Account Management: To verify your identity, manage your account created via Google Sign-In, and ensure secure access.
• Communication: To send you transactional updates (order confirmations, delivery status) and customer support responses. We only send marketing or promotional communications if you opt-in.
• Analytics and Improvement: To understand user interaction, monitor performance, and improve our features and user experience.
• Security and Fraud Prevention: To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security risks.
• Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and governmental requests.

We only share your information with the following parties as necessary to provide our Service:

• Restaurants: We share your order details and delivery address with the restaurant preparing your food to fulfill your order.
• Riders: We share your delivery address, name, and contact information with the assigned rider to facilitate delivery. We also share your location with riders for efficient tracking.
• Service Providers: We engage third-party companies and individuals to perform services on our behalf, such as Firebase, Google Maps, and Payment Processors (e.g., M-Pesa Integration).
• Legal and Regulatory Authorities: As required by law, such as in response to a court order or government request.
• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
• With Your Consent: For any other purpose with your explicit consent.

• Access and Correction: You can access and update your account information directly within the app.
• Location Permissions: You can enable or disable location services for our app through your device settings at any time.
• Marketing Communications: You can opt-out of promotional communications by following unsubscribe instructions.
• Account Deletion & Data Retention:

  You have the right to request the deletion of your account and personal data at any time. Because our platform serves different users, deletion paths vary by account type:

  • For Clients: You can delete your account instantly through the Settings menu within the Munchies client app. Upon confirmation, your personal data (name, phone number, and email) will be permanently anonymized in our database (your profile name will display as "Guest").
  • For Riders and Merchants (Partners): You can request account deletion via the Settings menu within your respective app. Because of financial reconciliation, pending payouts, or active delivery tracking, these requests are subject to administrative review and approval. Once approved by our team, your personal identification records will be permanently removed or anonymized.

  Note on Financial Records: In compliance with local financial and tax regulations, historical transaction records, order ledgers, and payout histories will be retained in an anonymized format and cannot be linked back to any individual personal identity.

By using our Service, you are also subject to the privacy policies of third-party services like Google Play Services, Firebase, Google Maps Platform, and M-Pesa Integration.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
